Bio
Lani Emanuel was born in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. She grew up in northern California, roaming and exploring the hills of San Francisco, and hiking and camping along northern California’s dramatic coastline.
Relocating to Los Angeles, she attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, (FIDM), graduating with a degree in fashion design. She enjoyed an exciting 15-year career as a fashion designer before starting a family.
Wanting to explore her childhood passion for creating art, she studied drawing and painting at Pierce College, and privately with a number of known artists. She then attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. While there, she focused primarily on contemporary portrait, figure, and landscape painting with artists Aaron Smith, David Luce, and Kent Williams, and printmaking with Tony Zapeda. Lani earned her BFA degree in 2008, graduating with distinction.
Lani Emanuel’s paintings have won awards, including most recently, first place in the prestigious SCORE VIII 2010 Southern California Open Regional Exhibition for her painting, “Boxers”. Her paintings and commissions hang in private collections throughout the US and Australia.
